A morning with Boppa!

The first grade classes enjoyed a wonderful morning with Boppa and his helpers. Boppa, the grandfather of two of our children, came to class to share some of the wonders of Santa, his reindeer and his elves. The children loved listening to him - just look at their faces! Afterward, Boppa's helpers made reindeer dust with our children. Don't forget to sprinkle that dust on the lawn Christmas Eve!

Sombrero for Santa!

The St. Pius musical, Sombrero for Santa was a huge success! The children did a wonderful job singing and dancing. It was such a delight watching their adorable little faces light up as they sang for the audience. WELL DONE!

The Henry Ford!

What a day it was!!! We had a wonderful time on our field trip to the Henry Ford Museum. I must say, the children enjoyed the Lego Castle most of all! They could have built and played in there forever. But...they also got to see Santa and mail the letters they wrote in class. They enjoyed making paper airplanes near the aviation exhibit, climbing aboard the famous "Rosa Parks Bus", looking at the famous Kennedy car, and walking among the gigantic trains. A special thanks goes out to all our chaperones for joining us on this trip!

It's December!

It is hard to believe that it is already December! We'll be busy this month, focusing on Advent and getting ready for Christmas. The children are trying to remember that Jesus would like us to be kind to one another. So many of us get our houses all ready for Christmas, but forget to get ourselves ready for Christmas. If we can think about acting in a way that would please Jesus, we will be getting ourselves for Christmas. Each time we catch the children being kind, they are going to glue some cotton to their stocking. Hopefully we'll have some really "fluffy" stockings by the end of the month.
We are really excited about our upcoming field trip to the Henry Ford Museum as well! Look for some pictures in the next post!
